Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society (HLPS) put its popular Lighthouse Musicfest on hold in 2025 to focus on important improvements at the lighthouse, including new, custom-fabricated windows that replaced the original windows, extensive interior woodwork, roof repairs and a major solar upgrade.  Additional work includes new railings, repairs to the cupola, and addressing cracks in the building’s interior and exterior masonry.  A new entry door is scheduled for installation, and many additional new projects to be announced soon. These projects can only be accomplished in fair weather conditions which restricts us to the summer and early fall.

HLPS treasures its 15-year history of hosting the amazing Lighthouse Musicfest–the only event of its kind at an offshore, operating lighthouse, and its biggest annual fundraiser –and has hopes to bring it back. The future date for a potential return of the Lighthouse Musicfest has not been decided at this time.

 Because the Huntington Lighthouse is an active aid to navigation marking the entrance to two harbors and relied on by recreational mariners, the fishing community, and many others, keeping the lighthouse sound to aid the U.S. Coast Guard to maintain the navigational aids is paramount.  As part of its educational mandate, HLPS continues to conduct lighthouse tours that are open to the public on specific dates.
